Together and Alone - Jasmine Wiler

Jasmine, the daughter of “together and alone” parents, wrote Together and Alone during her studies in early childhood education.

During her life as the daughter of “together and alone” parents, she learned to appreciate the smaller and larger advantages of living in split families. The story aims to ease the lives of children whose parents are “together and alone”, to seek the advantages and to enable the children of “normal” families to acknowledge other life styles.

Jasmine spent her childhood in Ra’anana, and when she grew up studied in the Environmental High School at the Ben Gurion Seminar in Sdeh Boker, specializing in literature and environmental studies. During her military service, she served as a firing-range operations room commander in the Golan Heights, and upon her release, understood that she would like to teach. Following experiential work in a Zikhron Yaakov kindergarten, she began her first degree at the Kay College’s Regev program – a program for excellence.

At present, Jasmine is studying towards her master’s degree in early childhood education.

2006 – 2007 training courses while working as a kindergarten teacher at Kibbutz Sdeh Boker.
“Group teaching as a model for developing a unique children-parent kindergarten” under the guidance of Tzila Gavish and Nira & Ella at the Kibbutzim Seminar College.
“Sustainable teaching” – continued training for Program Kay College or Excellence, under the guidance of Dr. Itzik Koren of the PISGA Center in Beersheba.
October 2003 – 2006 Studied Early Childhood Education at the Kay College’s REGEV Program for Excellence.
2005 – 2006 Project Manager for the “Hebrew Language Weakness” educational entrepreneurship program, within the framework of the Inter-collegiate Excellence Forum, supported by the Ministry for Education.

“Together and Alone”, Teva HaDvarim” Publications, 2007 – a book that describes the manner in which 5-year old Yotam deals with his parents’ divorce, from the moment he is informed and until he realizes that there are positive aspects to the new situation.

About Igor Kovyar

Graphic designer, illustrator and artist Igor Kovyar studied classical painting and drawing in the St. Petersburg City Art School and graphic design in The Haifa VIZO-Canada College of Visual Arts.

Today he lives and works as a freelancer in Haifa, Israel.

Igor deals with illustration of fiction and science books as well as corporate and industrial booklets and technical documentation. The illustration of children books always brings him a special pleasure and joy.

The contemporary language of visual arts is native for Igor. In his works he fluently combines all the modern expressional techniques, such as classical oil and aquarelle painting, the art of photography and digital processing of images.
